Plan to Protect then Plan for Success

In sports lingo a good defense makes for a good offense. In fact if you can’t defend your income then you can’t achieve your goals. I have seen a number of teams with a strong offense and weak defense while these teams can run the score higher, they cannot win consistently and fade in the playoffs and so their season is considered unsuccessful.

Spending Plans are a lot like that, it must first be used to protect your income and then help to find and plug spending leaks and help you make behavioral changes. After this happens then you can go on offense and set and achieve goals….why? Because you control your finances and make sure the money set aside for your goals will be there when the money needs to be saved.

The idea that we don’t need some kind of tools to help get control of our finances is just nonsense. The better the tools the better the result and the less time you have to spend on it.
